The Cost Nobody Talks About

The cost of creating content is so much more than money; although money does help, it is the time, effort, and energy spent thinking things through that are the costs nobody talks about. Before anyone wonders, yes, I use AI for certain things and processes, but it helps with backend tasks, which is great. However, since I am a front-facing channel, I need to be on camera, and it is very important for me to talk about things in a way that not many people do. Because of this, the time, effort, and energy are so valuable. So many times, I have thought to myself, "Just react to what people are saying or doing, or base my own thoughts on someone else’s." Truth is, I can’t do it. 

It is amazing to see how my brain works when it comes to football: what comes to mind when I start thinking, and how I decide what to say. There are certain moments where I will have an entire plan, but once I hit record, what actually comes out is something way better and flows better. This speaks to my love for football and to really letting my brain work in a way that makes sense, without limiting whatever path it takes! 

Creating content for me is all about things I can prove or connect to make sense, almost like patterns. This helps me to remove my too-high or two low emotions and to be very practical! My favorite part about what I am building is that it is me. As a person, I don’t tie emotions to my thoughts. There are a handful of people who can even make me emotional or get me in my feelings, and those people aren’t on the internet. I have a rule: if you have never been to my home or we have never been on vacation together, you can’t know me enough to make me emotional, and this is how I approach my football content. 

No player, coach, GM, Owner and even fan can bring me to a point where I drag my feelings into things, why you might ask, it goes back to the beginning of this post, “The cost of creating content is so much more than money; although money does help, it is the time, effort, and energy spent thinking things through that are the costs nobody talks about.” Time, effort & energy you can’t get back - I can’t afford to waste that on something that isn’t with me when I am creating. Learning this was hard for me, and a few years ago, it hit me in my personal life. It has been a driving force in continuing to create content and love the journey along the way!
